four minute poem

As I lie here and lie to the voice on the wall
Tarnished crimson streaks through the blinds
Crashes my world, suffocates my spirit, belittles my being.
Brings me to breathe an unfamiliar air
Stagnant , colorless, without life
Not apparent to me is the way I used to live.
Used to breathe
Used to sing and dance and write and throw and rhyme.
Now who is this collection?
I am this way because I’ve loved you.
Because I’ve trusted you
Because I’ve belonged to you
Never wanted anything else but you
Just never knew how to make me you.
Can’t change you
Won’t break you
Tested you
Burned you
And the whole time
I Loved you.
