Your Name

Breaths of courage drip from her lips
As she invites me in with a whisper.
From the fade of my head to the mid of my back
Hair stands erect, as tingles mingle
Throughout my fingers and toes.

She has me trapped in her web
Dances around cautiously waiting to consume me
She has the upper hand.
I am succumbed.
Submissive to the kiss that invited me in.

She owns the touch, the strength, and the torch
And I am burnt from the heart as it singes the being of my soul
While she smiles a blood drawn smile
She knows she has me at her mercy.
But she waits, hesitates, she pauses
Not ready to bite yet, she controls the moment.

Soon, soon, she says, it won’t be long…

With a shameless motion of paralyzing effect
After worlds of living ran through my mind
She let’s me know that it is finally my time.

It’s quiet now.
No need to shake, to make any noise
No one can hear me now as fear silences my manic screams
Still though, I decide to fight

I won’t give up nor let you win.
I fight back with caged in aggression Get off me you bitch!
Find prey not here, I’m not giving in!
You don’t own me, I’m me, I make the call!
This is my world, my world I said! I let you in!!

But you’re quiet. In the night
You lay motionless, without explanation
Raging with anger I still spew hate
But it matters no longer.
I know now your name,

You’re fate.

Memory

A triple move on a deep post in late October on a football practice field with ruts from a car tire left from the weekend’s events of belligerent partying in the north endzone.

eyes speak to me the way an out of town businessman calls for an escort
